Lunch Spot: ならまち創作中華 菜遊季. Nara, Nara.

My wife says it's Chinese food, but to me, for this restaurant, in particular, it's a subtle difference I can only recognize after being told so. That is to say, the flavors aren't as strong/overwhelming as most Chinese food I'm accustomed to. But delicious, nonetheless. It's a cozy and quiet spot just a few blocks beyond the busy Nara shopping arcade. The restaurant is split into two sections; a counter up front and a smaller room with two tables in the back. We've only ever gone for lunch, which runs about ¥1,300 per meal.

A simple but pleasant atmosphere.

Spring rolls.

Fried chicken.
